This story is of the Well Marker.
She was convicted for the murder of five infants, all found at the bottom of a well.
She was also convicted of the murder of her father - but he deserved it. Hell...I would have killed him to.
This is her story.
At least, the story she told me right before she died.
Jack Steen, my name is the only real name you’ll find in this book.
I won’t tell you which hospital I work at.
I won’t tell you the names of those dying.
But I won’t lie to you.
You’ll read exactly what I’m told.
Instead of their real names, I’ll tell you the names I gave them.
If you’re smart, if you’re deranged enough to read between the lines, you’ll know who is telling the story.
I can’t say all the stories are real. I doubt they’re all one hundred percent true but like every story you read, there’s always a nugget of truth to every tale ever told - but then, what the fuck do I know.
These sadistic bastards could be playing their final game with me by messing with my head.

The author wanted to call this story "The Well Marker." Apparently the publisher (or whoever) didn't get the memo and keeps referring to it as "The Well Maker." No matter, the story remains the same.

This is a good short read for somebody who finds interest in reading about the criminally insane. I'll give another one of this author's books a read.
There are several grammatical errors throughout
Story was well written, could have used a good proof reader. As a voracious reader, incorrect verbiage and misspelling is a huge distraction.The ability for spinning a grab you by the throat tale, this author has that in spades!
We may not know your name. It really doesn't matter. Where you work could be anywhere.. But the story you told was a very prowerful tale in a very few words. The deed you did gave your charges the chance to unload their soul and find their peaceful ending. Tremendously powerful!
This is a quick twisted read into the hoffific minds of a few interesting characters. If you are looking for a fast-paced creepy story then pick this up, as well as the others in the deathbed series.
Well written and kept my attention the whole time. Like he says in the beginning ,he does have a foul mouth.you have to try to ignore that.
A gritty, fast-paced quick read that is both disturbing and satisfying. Jack Steen is a fascinating narrator. I'll be reading the others as soon as they're out.
Anyone who likes to read about the dark side of some humans really needs to read this book. It is very possible that this could happen.
